Business coaching for dreamers, doers and damn-good ideas.
You’ve got something you want to build — maybe it’s a start-up you can’t stop thinking about, a new direction for your business, or a project that’s been pushed to the back burner for too long.
Life’s busy, and it’s hard to find the time or headspace to figure out what’s next. Between work, family, and everything in between, your goals can easily get lost in the day-to-day.
“Thank you Nicky for your amazing coaching! At first I was confused and overwhelmed about which direction I wanted to go, but over our sessions I felt more focused. You gave me the guidance and confidence to go for it – 6 months later I have my own business doing exactly what I want to be doing!”
Who are you?
I work with people who want to:
- Get their business idea off the ground — and want some support figuring out where to start.
- Keep their business growing — without burning out or losing sight of why they started.
- Untangle the messy middle — when something isn’t working and you need to see the next step clearly.
Coaching is a chance to slow down, unravel the spaghetti in your head, and move your business forward — without the overwhelm.
Big ideas. Small steps. Real progress.
Who am I?
Hi, I’m Nicky.
Full disclosure – I’m not sitting in a fancy office as I write this.
I don’t have an assistant, an abundance of annual profit, or business-class tickets to the next Fortune 500 conference. I’m not a business expert, I don’t have an MBA and I last worked in a corporate setting 15 years ago as a fresh-faced, naive and frankly rather oblivious youngster.
In fact, I would go as far to say that my business experience so far has been pretty brutal. I’ve tried, failed, changed, stopped and started again more times than I can count! I’ve learned (the hard way) how tricky it is to balance the excitement of a great business idea with the actual reality of running a business and, well… life.
Despite this, I do have a few things that are useful:
- Experience in starting a business. And closing a business. And starting again…
- A LOT of “what-not-to-do” stories (take a look at the blog page if you need a laugh)
- A bordering-on-ridiculous enthusiasm for new ideas and the people who have them.
- The ability to see situations, obstacles and solutions from multiple perspectives.
- An Executive Coaching qualification which means, among other things, I’m great at asking questions.
(Those last 2 are particularly helpful, because sometimes a fresh set of eyes and a question that knocks your socks off are all that’s needed to see things clearly and move forward)
I’ve been coaching a range of clients for the last 3 years, and in that time I’ve realised that small businesses, and small business owners, are my people. People who have vision, passion, grit and determination to put something out into the world, people who strive for a different way to provide for their family, who see solutions to problems in their communities, who want to live on their own terms doing something they love… all of these things are my jam.
So I’ve decided to make it my bread and butter too, and go all-in with supporting you to get – and keep – your big ideas out into the world.
“When I started coaching, I really didn’t know what to expect. However, wherever my expectations were, they have been completely surpassed by my experiences with Nicky. Each session leaves me feeling confident, successful, and motivated. I’ve been able to manage my time so much better, allowing me to grow my business without losing myself in work. I feel less overwhelmed and have become a better version of myself for all the people in my life.”
Why me?
Business Owner
As a two-time small business owner, I know what it’s like to have a notebook full of ideas, or pressures that you just didn’t anticipate feeling like they’re stacking up against you. I’ve learned to take risks, pivot when needed, and trust my instincts—lessons I bring to coaching to help you feel less overwhelmed, make confident decisions and achieve the goals that matter most.
Expat
Years of living and working abroad have taught me how to navigate uncertainty, adapt to new challenges, and find belonging in unfamiliar environments. I’m no stranger to making leaps into the unknown, and I know how scary it is to be completely out of your comfort zone.
Educator
With a background in education, I’m great at breaking things down into easy-to-achieve tasks and keeping us on track. Years of chatting with children also means I’m as attuned to what you’re not saying as what you are, so we can get traction on what’s really going on – giving you clarity to make decisions that are right for you.
Change-Maker
Owning a business is never a linear process, and in the last 15 years I’ve changed careers, started and stopped businesses, had a baby, moved abroad – so I’m no stranger to the ups and downs! I’m great at making a plan when life throws the inevitable curveballs, or tuning in to that little voice that won’t go away – helping you to move forward, whatever happens next.
